With Yunnan cuisine at its heart, Kunming is turning food into a window to the world during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. Along the eastern shore of Dianchi Lake, the "Dianchi Flavors Food and Culture Fair" at the U-shaped bend brings together 60 coffee-themed vans. Local and nationally renowned tea and coffee brands are joining the event with limited-edition specialty drinks, while tastings of premium Yunnan coffee beans, a showcase of Yunnan chocolate, and Dianchi-limited dishes are also on offer.

On the western shore, the "Myriad Flavors" Food Market features six themed sections: local Yunnan specialties, Southeast Asian cuisine, intangible cultural heritage crafts and creative products, ethnic culture and everyday life, tech-enabled culinary experiences, and a coffee zone. More than 50 quality vendors have gathered at the market. Meanwhile, Kunming's first floating market, launched at Sunac Dianchi Houhai, brings together an array of Southeast Asian-inspired floating stalls, with lanterns lit each evening as visitors make wishes for good fortune.

Across Guandu, Yiliang, Shilin, Luquan and other parts of Kunming, a series of food experiences are taking place in succession, including a roast duck festival, immersive drama tours themed around wild mushrooms, and tastings of Saba ham.

From a bowl of small-pot rice noodles to a traditional long-street banquet, to a cup of specialty coffee, Kunming is using the flavors of Yunnan as a bridge to the world—inviting visitors from near and far to savor the taste of Yunnan beside Dianchi Lake and experience the city's vibrant, open-hearted street-life energy.
