On April 25, the publicity and launch event for the Spring Break Flower-Viewing Tourism Routes of Kunming Dianchi National Tourist Resort was held as scheduled at Panxiangji Dream Orange Garden. The event unveiled a curated selection of premium flower-viewing routes, special cultural tourism activities, dedicated tourist bus lines, and preferential travel benefits.
At the event, the Culture, Tourism, Investment and Promotion Bureau of Dianchi Resort unveiled three special flower-viewing routes for the spring break, covering all scenarios—from photo spots and relaxing retreats to cultural experiences—designed for couples, friends, families with kids, and multi-generational travelers alike.
A representative from Yunnan Tourism Automobile Co., Ltd. gave a detailed introduction to the special spring break flower-viewing bus routes. Guided by the concept of "integrating scenery with the city for slow yet efficient travel," the company has built a four-tier transport network, optimized five popular routes. Two new lines have been added: the East Dianchi Shore Line and the South Dianchi Resort Line. These routes go directly to destinations such as South Dianchi Beach Park, Niulian Fishing Village, and Whale Bay, while also connecting key spots like Haigang Dam, Haigong Park, Haiyan Village, and Laoyuhe Wetland Park.
A mini-program has also been launched for booking micro-circulation shuttle services, solving the "last mile" travel problem. In addition, an all-in-one package combining transit tickets, attraction entry fees, and unique local experiences has been introduced. Visitors who purchase this package can enjoy discounted combo tickets and dedicated entry lanes, making their trip smoother and more hassle-free.
A representative from a educational travel agency recommended special cultural tourism products for May Day holiday. These products integrate flower viewing with science education, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and ecological protection. They offer a new "learn-through-travel" option for families and youth groups, further enriching the cultural tourism product lineup of Dianchi Resort.
This event is a continuation of the "I Am Dian Spirit" series. It not only invited Yue Li, a guest from the "I Am Dian Spirit" ceremony, but also brought on board Lao Yu (a flower stand owner) and Qin Chong as tourism ambassadors. They shared Kunming's lakeside scenery and curated routes through their personal experiences and vivid stories, inviting everyone to the Spring City and experience the diverse spring charm of Dianchi Lake.
Three Spring Break Flower-Viewing Routes
Route 1: Romantic Flower Sea Photo Route
This route links carpets of evening primroses, roses in Daguan Park, Laoyuhe hydrangeas and ranunculus, and a lavender estate — a string of dreamy, French-style romantic vibes. Every casual snapshot is social-media gold.
Route 2: Wetland Healing Walk Route
Follow a green corridor through Haihong Wetland, Laoyuhe Wetland, and Wangguan Wetland. Stroll along the boardwalk, enjoy picnics and camping, and watch the sunset over Dianchi Lake—a truly immersive, breath-of-fresh-air escape.
Route 3: Ancient Village Floral & Cultural Route
In Wolong Ancient Fishing Village and Haiyan Village, flowers bloom among old stone houses with black tile roofs. Enjoy the sunset, experience local fishing culture, and taste authentic Dian-style farmhouse dishes — all in one trip. Come feel the rustic charm and nostalgic lakeside life of Dianchi.
