In Kunming, the most common breakfast is rice noodles. Rice noodle restaurants are all over the streets. If you eat a bowl of hot rice noodles in the morning on a cold day, you will feel comfortable all the day. Let's see what kind of rice noodles Kunming people can make.

Small-pot Rice Noodles
Small-pot rice noodles are cooked in a copper pot. Its broth is delicious, and is rich in ingredients and sauce flavor. It is the hometown flavor for Yunnan people that can hardly forget!

Crossing-the-bridge Rice Noodles
Crossing-the-bridge rice noodles are probably the most familiar. A bowl of hot stock with several fresh ingredients such as chicken slices, pork fillet slices, ham, bamboo shoots and so on, can stimulate delicious taste. Put the rice noodles in the soup and mix well, then you can enjoy a warm and tasty dish.
Douhua Rice Noodles
Douhua (a tofu pudding) rice noodles is a popular dish in Yunnan. After the rice noodles are boiled in hot water, put them into a bowl, and add pickles, crushed leek, peanuts, and hot sauce, then scoop a big spoon of douhua to cover the rice noodles. The soft and smooth rice noodles are covered with the fragrance of leek, and the sour and cool pickles make you feel fresh. You would never forget the taste if you tried once.

Shao Er Kuai
Shao Er Kuai is made of rice, processed into a cake shape and baked on a charcoal fire until it bulges slightly. It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and can be paired with more than 10 kinds of seasoning, is one of the Yunnan people's favorite breakfast!

Shao Er Kuai can be filled with fried dough sticks, ham sausage, potato shreds, kelp shreds, shredded mushrooms and so on. Roll it up and eat, you won't be hungry until lunch!
Guandu Baba
Guandu Baba was famous as early as the Ming and Qing Dynasties and originated in the Guandu area.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Guandu Baba, a ubiquitous snack, was popular among the old Kunming people.
Mijiang Baba
Mijiang Baba is made from mijiang, which is fermented rice milk, and sugar. Pour the mixed rice milk into a hot pan of oil and fry it evenly on both sides. After a few minutes, a fragrant rice milk baba with golden brown on both sides comes out of the pan. As a classic breakfast in Kunming, Mijiang Baba has preserved the memory of generations of Kunming people.

Beef Noodles
Beef noodles are a specialty of Kunming. It is famous for its delicious meat, fresh soup and chewy noodles.

The meat of the noodles is made of beef rib braised in brown sauce, which is fragrant and delicious, the clear soup is cooked of beef marrowbone, and the noodles can be egg noodles.

Crisp Stuffed Bun
Crispy stuffed buns are a traditional snack in Kunming, which is said to have originated in 1903. Compared with ordinary steamed buns, crispy buns have a crispy skin, and look somewhat cluttered and messy.

Three-piece set

Soybean Milk
Soybean milk is the best partner for deep-fried dough sticks, rice noodles and er si. In Tengchong and other areas of Baoshan, soybean milk is very popular among local people. It is poured on the boiled er si and mixed with various seasonings, which is very delicious.

It is not as thin as soy milk or as thick as porridge. With its own special bean flavor, it can be eaten with dough sticks and add rice noodles.

Glutinous Rice Ball
Glutinous rice ball in Kunming is made of half white glutinous rice and half purple rice, sandwiched between a deep-fried dough stick, compacted into a rugby ball shape, and rolled on the surface of a layer of white sugar. In recent years it seems to have become increasingly rare.

The glutinous rice balls, filled with all kinds of ingredients, salty, sweet and spicy, are remembered by many as delicacies.
Er Si
Er si has a variety way of cook. They can be steamed, boiled, fried, and braised. As one of Yunnan's characteristic snacks, the unique taste has conquered a large number of Yunnan people.
