[InKunming--Yunnan] Kunming Open, a tennis tournament held in Anning, China since 2012, is to be conducted in Anning from April 15 to 28 this year.
The event, as part of the ATP Challenger Tour and WTA 125K Series, has received well-known tennis players nationwide and worldwide in past years. Chinese players Peng Shuai, Zhang Shuai, Zhu Ling, and foreign players Jordan Thompson, Prajnesh Gunneswaran participated in the tournament.
Wang Mei, deputy mayor of Anning city said that over 200 professional players across the world will join the 2019 Kunming Open, and compete on the clay courts, which will be decorated with fresh flowers to highlight Yunnan features this year.
At the news conference, Wang Mei also said that the tournament, acquiring support from General Administration of Sport of China, is sponsored by Yunnan provincial government, Kunming and Anning municipal governments.
Audience who plan to go to watch the tournament in Anning are charged low prices. Ticket price for ordinary competitions is valued at 50 yuan per person. Prices for semifinals and finals are charged at 40, 80, and 120 yuan according to various seats’ locations.
