To showcase the achievements of the Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture in Yunnan province, highlight the development of its plateau specialty agriculture, and raise the profile of the "Honghe Nine Reds" series of products, an exhibition showcasing Honghe's achievements and a promotional event for its products were held in Beijing on Friday.

Located in the southwestern border region of China, Honghe is home to over 40 ethnic groups. The area is known for its rich biodiversity, high levels of negative oxygen ions and cultural tourism resources. "Honghe Nine Reds" is a regional public brand established by Honghe to promote nine categories of locally produced specialty agricultural products, including red wine, brown sugar, and black tea.

Li Zhenghong, deputy director of the Commission of Ethnic Affairs of Yunnan Province, said in his address that Honghe is a vivid microcosm of China's efforts to promote ethnic unity and progress. This achievement exhibition and product promotion event, he said, represents a practical example of advancing distinctive industries in border areas inhabited by ethnic groups.

Li expressed hope that Honghe would use the event as an opportunity to further promote comprehensive regional development and make new progress in building a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.

Ying Haizong, deputy secretary of the CPC Honghe Committee, invited people from all walks of life to visit Honghe, walk among the sea of clouds and terraced fields of the Hani rice terraces, explore the thousand-year-old cultural heritage of Jianshui ancient city, sample the rich flavors of the "Honghe Nine Reds", experience the vibrant new life of border villages, and see the changing face of the region's border towns.

During the promotion event, Xu Daquan, deputy director of the Honghe prefecture's agriculture and rural affairs bureau, gave a comprehensive introduction to the distinctive product portfolio of the "Honghe Nine Reds". He also shared Honghe's experience in drawing on its unique resources to create high-quality specialty agricultural products and cultural tourism brands.

Honghe has also launched a series of supporting promotional activities, including inviting inheritors of intangible cultural heritage and representatives of local enterprises to stage live demonstrations and conduct online livestreams. The prefecture is also introducing its specialty products to government agencies, enterprises and communities, while holding a series of promotional fairs in Beijing's Xicheng district.

The initiatives are aimed at establishing long-term cooperation mechanisms while further raising awareness of the "Honghe Nine Reds" brand and expanding its market influence.
