Myanmar virtually hosts 37th ASEAN senior officials meeting on environment

Myanmar is virtually hosting the 37th Meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Environment, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation on Wednesday.

Addressing the opening ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Hsan Oo said he hopes to work together with ASEAN member states to address the environmental challenges, including climate change, plastic pollution, biodiversity loss and transboundary haze.

He also expressed the hope for stronger implementation of the Post-2025 ASEAN Strategic Plan on Environment and encouraged active collaborative discussions for a sustainable and resilient future in the region.

The meeting will continue until Thursday, the ministry said.
