Established by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the institute seeks to implement the Global Civilization Initiative, conduct interdisciplinary research on global civilizations, and accelerate the development of a Chinese intellectual system in the study of global civilizations.
The institute is expected to provide intellectual support and a theoretical foundation to deepen exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, build consensus for global cooperation, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
According to CASS, the institute will focus on key areas including new forms of human advancement, fundamental theories of civilization, the history of civilizations, comparative civilization studies, and the impact of artificial intelligence on global civilization development.
It will help produce high-quality research findings with strategic, forward-looking, and practical relevance in these fields.
