[InKunming--YunnanA staffer of Gaoligong Mountain Nature Reserve Bureau said that a takin was shot in the south of the Mountain in Yunnan Province by infrared camera lately.

It is the first time the bureau has shot an image of a takin in the south of the mountain throughout its history. About decades of years ago, there are some takins living in the north of the Gaoligong Mountain.

Now, even in the north of the Gaoligong Mountain, staffers of the Gaoligong Mountain Nature Reserve Bureau seldom meets the takins.

Takins are listed as China’s national first-class protection animal. The bureau claimed that they would strengthen takin protection in the mountain in the next step.

Meanwhile, the bureau will also explore possibilities of cross-border protection with other organizations in the locality.
