The construction of the ninth modern sewage treatment plant is expected to be completed in Kunming by the end of this year.
At present, Kunming treats 1.155 million cubic meters of sewage on average a day. The city’s officials said that four more sewage treatment plants will be built in Kunming during the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) to further expand the city’s sewage processing capacity. As one of five major infrastructures of Kunming, construction of the ninth plant began in May 2011.It is designed to treat sewage with a daily treatment capacity of 100,000 cubic meters mainly on Dianmian Avenue and Kefa Road, as well as the second and third north ring roads.
