The annual Zheng He International Cultural Tourism Festival will be celebrated in Jinning County of Kunming on July 7, according to local authorities.

With the theme of " Making your way along Zheng He's shipping route", a series of activities, such as navigation-themed exhibition, opening ceremony performance, will be prepared for people during the festival. Foreigners and renown painters are also invited to attend the festival.

The opening ceremony is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m on July 11 at the culture square of Jinning.

Moreover,a navigation-themed exhibition, with a large amount of ship models and voyage literatures about Zheng He's seven voyages to the western seas exhibited at Yunnan Provincial Museum, will be one of the highlights at the festival.

Zheng He (1371-1433) was the greatest navigator in ancient China. He had successively led his fleet on diplomatic missions to Asian and African countries for seven times.(Editors:Hysung, Minnie Mao)
