Kunming's new airport, Changshui International Airport, will be formally opened on June 28, 2012. The traffic between 5 coach stations of the city and the airport may be confusing for visitors or some local residents. The following information may help to find options. Moreover, arrivals of the coach stations are also introduced.
Kunming Eastern Coach Station("the East" for short here), located between Hongqiao Overpass and Liangmiansi Overpass on Eastern 3rd Ring Road in Panlong District, is about 1 km away from the Hongqiao. Buses commute from "the East" and regions below:
Wenshan Zhuang&Miao Autonomous Prefecture,
Gejiu, Kaiyuan, Mengzi, Mi'le, Luxi, Hekou, Pingbian and Jinping of Honghe Hani&Yi Autonomous Prefecture,
Luliang, Shizong and Luoping of Qujing Prefecture,
Shilin and Yiliang of Kunming,
some provinces outside of Yunnan.
Here are optional ways from "the East" to the new airport:
I. Take No.1 Airport Express to Xinying Residential Area Station (on Eastern Renmin Road), transfer to any return bus of Airport Express.
II. Take No. 22 or 50 bus to Huanchengbei Road Staion (also called "Northern Ring Road Station"), transfer to Airline Express buses at Kunming Xiongye Hotel.
Kunming Western Coach Station("the West" for short here) stands at the northeast of the intersection of Chunyu Road and Yining Road, Xishan District. Buses commute from "the West"and regions below:
Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture,
Dehong Dai&Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture,
Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture,
Baoshan Prefecture,
Lincang Prefecture,
Ancient Town District, Yulong, Yongsheng and Ninglang of Lijiang Prefecture(except of Huaping County),
Jingdong and Shangyun of Pu'er Prefecture.
Here is an optional way from "the West" to the new airport:
Take No.80 bus to Kunming Train Station (at a former coach station), change to No. 82 bus, stop at Xiyi Hotel at Xiaoximen, transfer to Airline Express buses.
Kunming Southern Coach Station("the South" for short here) , located at the east of New Kunluo Road, Guandu District, is not far away from New Luosiwan International Trade City. Buses commute from "the South" and regions below:
Pu'er Prefecture(except of Jingdong and Shangyun),
Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture,
Yuxi Prefecture (except of Yimen),
Jianshui, Shiping, Yuanyang, Lvchun and Honghe counties of Honghe Hani&Yi Autonomous Prefecture,
Jinning of Kunming,
some foreign countries.
Here is an optional way from "the South" to the new airport:
Take No.103 bus to Kunming Xiongye Hotel, change to No. 154 bus to a closed bus station "Nanyao" on Yongping Road, transfer to No. 904 or 905 bus to the gate of Kunming World Expo Garden, get on Airline Express buses.
Kunming Northern Coach Station("the North" for short here), located at Wayao Village of Panlong District, is 1.1 km away from Jindian Overpass.
Buses commute from "the North" and regions below:
Qujing Prefecture(except of Luliang, Shizong and Luoping),
Zhaotong Prefecture,
Xundian, Songming, Luquan and Dongchuan of Kunming,
some provinces outside of Yunnan.
Here is an optional way from "the North" to the new airport:
Take No.23(a special line), 182 or 907 bus to Linyuqiao Station(in the front gate of Yueyatang Residential Area), change to No. 905 or 906 bus, stop at the gate of Kunming World Expo Garden, transfer to Airline Express buses.
Kunming Northwestern Coach Station("the Northwest" for short here), situated at southwest of PuJi Village in Wuhua District, about 600 meters away from Kunsha Road, is near the Kunming Bus Garage.
Buses commute from "the Northwest" and regions below:
Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture,
Yimen of Yuxi Prefecture,
Anning, Fumin and Luquan of Kunming, Huaping of Lijiang Prefecture,
Panzhihua City of Sichuan Province.
Here is an optional way from "the Northwest" to the new airport:
Take No.121 bus to Kunshilukou Station and walk to Xiyi Hotel, change to No. 907 bus to Linyuqiao Station(in the front gate of Yueyatang Residential Area), get on Airline Express buses.
