The ticket of Kunming metro is confirmedly priced at a staring point of 2 yuan, without upper limit.

The pricing grades will be sequenced on the base of “decreasing rate with increasing distance”. And the starting 5 grades will be 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 kilometers. The price will increase by 1 yuan per grade.

On November 17, the Kunming Development and Reform Commission gave recognition to Kunming Track Transportation Company on the ticket prices.

To encourage residents to take the metro, the transportation company will adopt preferential measures.

The Airport Access Line will charge an extra 10 yuan for one trip after the 2-year trial operation. But during the 2-year trial operation, there will be no extra charge. The Airport Access Line will charge in accordance with the pricing standards of general subway lines.

Discounts will be provided to senior citizens and school children. Besides, disabled soldiers and police, and severely disabled people, such as blind persons can travel by the metro free of charge.

This trial fare standards will be carried out during the 2–year trial period. After the expiration of the trial period, they may be revised. (Editor:Minnie Mao)
