Border towns bridged by more than a road

Standing at the Erenhot national gate of China, Zamyn-Uud of Mongolia seems to be within reach, as the centers of the two cities are merely 9 kilometers apart. The border is no longer a dividing line, but a thriving channel. Every day, thousands cross Erenhot Port, the busiest land port between China and Mongolia, to buy daily necessities and more. Beyond retail, China and Mongolia are jointly building the Erenhot-Zamyn-Uud Economic Cooperation Zone, spanning roughly nine square kilometers on each side to create a benchmark for cross-border synergy. China-Mongolia ties go far beyond trade — together, the two neighbors are pursuing shared growth and mutual benefit.
