[InKunming--Kunming] The 5th China-South Asia Expo concluded on June 20, 2018. Through the expo, both Yunnan and Kunming raised their reputation, and broadened friend circles in the world.

In past days, 3,825 enterprises attended the expo. Visitors all over the world participated in the expo’s exchange and communication. 

On the First China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, over 400 guests from South Asian countries gathered at bank side of Fuxian Lake, talking about several subjects such as strengthening infrastructure construction, overcoming poverty, and deepening economic and trade cooperation.

Foreign exhibitors praised the expo in various aspects. Zeid, an exhibitor from Pakistan told InKunming reporter, “Our country Pakistan and China are old friends. Due to the China-South Expo, many pakistan businessmen built links with Kunming and Yunnan.” Zeid emphasized that his carpets could be sold out in a day while it could not happen in other places.

Mohammad Rasol Kazimi, an exhibitor from Afghanistan told InKunming reporter that he liked the days spent in Yunnan and wished to travel around Yunnan one day in the future. Thanks to China’s One Belt and One Road Initiative, travelling expenses by him and transportation costs by his goods were sharply cut down this year. “I wish I could open a wool carpet store here in future.” Rasol added when he was interviewed by the InKunming reporter.

Bourama, who is from Tyler, Texas, the United States, also joined the expo. He is a liaison officer representing his hometown to attend the expo. Tyler City is a sister city of Qujing City in Yunnan Province. 

Bourama highly praised foods, weather and hospitable people in Kunming. “Wish the expo could attract more people in the future and wish I could come to Kunming every year.” Bourama said. 

Liu Qiling, the director of Yunnan International Expo Bureau, said that Yunnan’s influence has been strenghened by organizing the China-South Asia Expo. Yunnan is embracing the world with an open mind.
